Part 3: Setting the start point and stop point of the loaded DVD or video file with the range bar for conversion, or click “Set start and stop times for recording” in “Options” menu.Tips: In the interface, you can choose to set the cropping and resolution of the output video, stretch or choose to auto-stretch the widescreen with aspect ratio control to your needs, and regulate the audio and video quality of output video as you like. You can also set the Video and Audio quality, and limit the estimated file size.Step 2: Complete the output settings. Tips: Here comes the key step, because these options are of crucial importance for whether or not your encoded video will work on the iPod. So it’s to be discussed in great detail.Choose Codec of video: Select MPEG-4(fast conversion, larger file size) or H.264(slow conversion, half the size) for the same quality as you like. Bitrate: The bitrate refers to the number of bits per second devoted to storing the final product; the higher the bitrate, the greater the audio resolution of the final product. Bitrate (kbps) needs to be below 768 for H.264, and below 2500 for MPEG-4. PQ DVD Software recommends using lower-than-maximum numbers here, just for safety. If you’re really picky about video quality, you’ll need to test some clips to determine what looks and works best here.Frame rate (fps): The frame rate is the number of frames or images that are projected or displayed per second. At least according to Apple’s technical specifications for the iPod, frame rate cannot exceed 30 fps regardless of whether you’re using MPEG-4 or H.264. In addition,you can also choose “Disable screensaver when recording” or “Shutdown the computer when the work is done”.Part 1: Click “More Options” to finish the “Output Setting”.
Part 2: You can also click the “Options” at the top to customize the “Output Settings” or “DVD Settings”, Here you can also record your DVD/video file later.
Step3:Convert the input DVD or video.Part 1. Click “Record it” to start the conversion.
Part 2. Pause or stop the recording whenever you like by clicking “Pause/Stop”.
Part 3. In the “Open” field, you can also choose to “Batch Convert Video Files” for batch conversion.
Part 3. In the “Open” field, you can also choose to “Batch Convert Video Files” for batch conversion.
Step4:When the conversion finishes, add the converted video file by clicking “Add File to Library” in iTunes’ File menu, and select this output video file to iPhone’s playlist. Tips: When it finishes, add the converted file to your iTunes library by simply dragging it onto the iTunes icon in your Dock. Be aware that a video file that is accepted by iTunes is not always compatible with the iPod; this won’t become apparent until you synchronize the iPhone. Time for you to enjoy the converted videos on your iPhone now. Amazing, isn’t it?

Funstastic v3.03 is here and the good news for those who have PowerPCs is that the latest version of the iPhone unlocking now supports PowerPC. The other great enhancement is that the file browser will not only let you gain access to iPhone’s file system it will also allows you to install the latest native iPhone application. Read on for more details.
bitSplit, after about 3 weeks of silence has just released v3.03 of iFuntastic and if v2.5 was great with the addition of the iPhone file browser, the latest version is even better.
One of the most important new features in v3 is “Unshackling”. No longer will you have to un-jail and re-jail your iPhone for every modifiaction. Once you unshackle, you’re free to make any modifications you please while simultaneously maintaining iTunes’ ability to access the phone. Very sweet.
The Home Screen section has been significantly updated. Just as you could in previous versions, iFuntastic allows you to rearrange the icons on your home screen, but it gets even cooler. You can now have multiple home screens with a different set of icons on each. Take that, Spaces. On top of that, you know have the ability to put iphone backgrounds on each home screen as well as rotate them. Can you say “useful”?
Ringtones has also been updated. Remember that handy tip on getting free iphone ringtones from iTunes? Now you can use iFuntastic to rip iTunes previews for you. Simply create a playlist of songs from the iTunes Music Storeand drag the exported version into iFuntastic. The songs are downloaded from the store and uploaded right into your iPhone.
The new File Manager is awfully cool. It can be used to install new iphone software, save and delete files, and everything in between. iFuntastic also allows you to fiddle with system images and change the carrier logo, as you could in the past.
According to bitSplit, (summarized) changes since the last version are:
* PowerPC support! Finally. Thanks for keeping the faith ![]()
* One-time unjailing - called ‘Unshackling’.
* Drag and drop any file onto the phone in the new ‘File Manager’ (formerly Browser ![]()
* Edit text directly on the phone.
* Drag and drop installation of native applications - no restart of the phone necessary.
* Info page: a one-stop-shop for all documentation (still sparsely populated right now, sorry.)
* Troubleshooting page: a one-stop-shop for pummeling the phone and inquiring about its status.
* Much improved ringtone installation.
* Drag and drop replacement of system sounds.
* Completely reworked Home Screen Editor. Place applications anywhere you want them (gaps are OK.)
* Support for multiple home screen ‘pages’. Have up to 80 applications at your fingertips!
* Custom home screen ‘wallpaper’, better called home screen backgrounds, to distinguish from the ‘real’ wallpaper.

Only three weeks after Apple’s first software update for the iPhone, update 1.0.2 has hit the streets through iTunes. So far, any meaningful description of the update has not shown up on Apple’s website like it did last time, but we’ll be sure to update you if and when that changes.
Instead, you get “iPhone Bug fixes.” No, this is not the massive software update that everyone has been hoping for, although it could contain a few hidden fixes like the last update did with the addition of the BCC field in e-mail and whatnot.
I’m told that the update weighs in at a hefty 92MB, so there’s gotta be some interesting gems buried in there. We’ll be sure to update with more info as it becomes available.
Update: We are hearing through various sources (namely Gizmodo and MacRumors forums) that users are reporting improvements to WiFi reception and that a number of hacks still work fine after installing the update (unlike last time). Also, other users are reporting that their updates are a mere 3.7MB instead of 92MB.
