O2, the United Kingdom’s official iPhone carrier, has announced pricing for iPhone 3Gs purchased under the firm’s “Pay and Go” program, which allows users to eschew a contract for a monthly “top-up” fee that provides a specified number of prepaid minutes and text messages.
With Pay and Go, the iPhone 3G 8GB will be priced at £299.99 (just under $600) and the 16GB model at £359.99 (just over $700). The Pay and Go program also includes unlimited browsing and Wi-Fi for the first 6 months after a user activates his iPhone. At the end of the six months, the user can elect to purchase unlimited browsing and Wi-Fi for £10 per month.
This offer is applicable to all new and upgrading customers who purchase an iPhone on Pay and Go until Dec 31st 2008.
